Iowa) I ride in the field and my mare has a habit of stretching her long neck downward when she wants to turn back to the barn. With a Tom Thumb bit I would almost lose the reins. I read information on the Myler bits and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It has taken a month of riding 3 times a week and my horse now responds to the Myler bit. The shank moves around with the rein where the shank on a Tom Thumb is stiff. Now if she decides to turn around I can turn her back and keep going without losing the reins. I highly recommend using a Myler bit.
